Mangalore,05 Mar 2013: The people of Karnataka are fed up with corrupt and immoral BJP-led state government. The poor image of Karnataka indeed dampened the businesses across the state. The absence of farsighted plans affected the common man and middle income group. Mangalore is known globally as hub of education and healthcare services that is being tarnished with communal flare ups supported by saffron-wings that divide the people in lines of caste, creed, religion for region for their selfish gains, said former MP Vinay Kumar Sorake.
The former MP Vinay Kumar Sorake in an exclusively interview that was held at Congress civic poll publicity office here on Tuesday March 5 morning, with www.bellevision.com said that Congress hopes to get clear majority in civic polls of Mangalore City Corporation (MCC) as the waves in favour of Congress are strongly felt during door-to-door campaign. The city’s image has been tarnished by increasing cases of women atrocities by saffron wings. The peaceful co-existence of people of different faith being threatened by vested interests. The voters expect a change in civic body and Congress is the right choice at the existing circumstance, added Vinay Kumar Sorake.
Vinay Kumar Sorake expressed hope of getting a clear majority in the civic polls of MCC.
Dakshina Kannada District Congress Committee (DCC) civic poll publicity Committee convener J R Lobo said that the civic body that was governed by BJP has not fulfilled majority of agendas in their poll manifesto till the end of their term. Several issues remain untouched. The waves in favour of Congress are witnessed in door-to-door campaigns that are rigorously undertaken by party activists in different wards of MCC. He hopes Congress regains the power in civic body with a clear majority in the forthcoming civic polls, said J R Lobo.
Congress candidate of Shivabagh ward number 34 – Sabitha Misquith said that she has been engaged on door-to-door campaign to know the grievances of voters in their locality. She said that the inner roads in Shivabagh ward are improved during the term of her former Corporator Gretta Rebello, but the main roads lie in deplored state that she will earnestly try to complete within 6 months, if she wins the civic polls. She also said that she will convene ward meetings frequently in order to address the grievances of people living in her ward, said Sabitha Misquith.
