Puttur: St Philomena College Women’s Hostel celebrates Fresher’s Day

Puttur, 8 Jul 2014: St Philomena College women’s hostel celebrated Fresher’s Day at the hostel premises to welcome the fresh students at the hostel here on Saturday July 5.
It was organised by inmates of the hostel under the guidance of motherly warden Sr Rosy Saldhana was presided by Fr Alfred Pinto, correspondent of Maide – Deus Educational institutions, here.
Fr Pinto in his message to the inmates said, ‘every individual should be able to love self as he or she is, only then it is possible to love the other and thereby able to love the society. He called upon the students to put in hard work and thereby bring fame to self, hostel and to the college.’
The campus director Fr Antony Prakash Monteiro was the chief guest, said that concerted efforts involving heart and soul will always lead to success and that, he expect the same from the inmates of the hostel.
The principal Professpr Leo Norohna was the guest of honor, said that hostel is a veritable home away from home. Students learn to manage themselves in terms of money, time, sharing of emotional feelings etc. He also congratulated them for choosing the best college and hostel for building their bright career.
Queens from the fresher’s were crowned by Bharathi S Rai.
The hostel Committee vice president Joyline welcomed the gathering. The secretary Reshma D’Souza proposed vote of thanks.
The talented inmates of the hostel presented variety of cultural shows.
