Mangalore: Elderly Woman Raped by Youngster, Jewellery Looted at Saripalla

Mangalore, 15 Jul 2013: In a most shocking incident, a sixty-nine-year-old woman was raped by a twenty-four-year-old youngster, in the locality of Saripalla, Padil – Alape, here on Sunday July 14 at about 7.00pm.
The woman has been residing in Saripalla for over 40 years at the limits of Mangalore rural police station. She was admitted at district Wen Lock Hospital for medical examination.
The youngster was identified as Nagesh, a construction worker, native of Chikballapura, who was living in the adjacent room of Victim. She was building a new house nearby for her family and allowed Nagesh to stay to work in the building site.
The police sources said that Nagesh knocked on her room at about 7.00pm, when she opened the door, he brandished a sickle. She was horrified but he did not let her go. He forced her to undress and raped her, despite her repeated pleas to let her due to advanced age. After this, he managed to get the keys of cupboards and decamped with a gold necklace, ear rings, chain and cash money of Rs 5,500 and fled from the scene, informed the police sources.
Mangalore rural police registered a case in this regard after registering FIR under IPC section 376, 392 and 506.
Late report confirmed that the accused Nagesh has been nabbed by the police and is in their custody.
