Udupi: MLA Raghupati Bhat to Contest Assembly Elections, if High Command Gives Nod

Udupi, 01 Apr 2013: MLA K Raghupati Bhat said that he would contest the upcoming assembly elections, if the pary high command asks him to do so, reports Bellevision News Network form Udupi.
MLA Bhat had earlier announced his decision not to contest the elections, after a sex CD surfaced allegedly showing him in an intimate position with an unidentified woman. However, the party activists had pressurized him to contest the elections on Saturday March 30.
Speaking to media persons after holding talks with BJP leaders on Sunday March 31, MLA Bhat said, ‘the decision to field me will be decided on Friday April 5. If the party high command wants me to contest, then I will contest. Otherwise, I will work towards the victory of the candidate who has been fielded by the BJP. I have already complained to the Deputy Commissioner and Superintendant of Police on the circulation of the said CD,’ said MLA Bhat.
BJP senior leaders said, ‘ as per the recommendation of party workers, we have recommended Bhat’s name to contest from Udupi assembly constituency.’
The former municipal councilor Kiran Kumar, members Yashpal Suvarna, Shyam Prasad Kudwa and others were present at the occasion.
