Mangalore: ’Sangeetha Rasavihara’ Concert was Simply a Music to your Ears

Mangalore, 25 Feb 2013: Akashvani organised ‘Sangeetha Rasavihara’ a music concert at Town Hall on Saturday, 23rd February 2013. Sharada, Programme Executive, AIR, Mangalore inaugurated the programme. Speaking on the occasion, she said, "AIR, Mangalore is striving hard to popularize art, literature and culture and takes active role in the development of music. It has a long history in broadcasting award winning programmes."
’Sangeetha Rasavihara’ featured a evening of Carnatic and Hindustani classical music concert presented by two eminent artists. Vani Satish of Bangalore presented vocal recital with ‘sarasangi’ raga and concluded with Tyagaraja Lyric and Mukhari raga. She did her master’s degree in Mysore University. Vani Satish is a “A” grade artist and has performed ‘jugalbandi’ programme with Hindustani musicians. She has won the heart of many people who are interested in music. Accompaniments were: Violin by Anoor Ananthkrishna Sharma and Khanjira by G Guruprasanna of Bangalore.
Hindustani Classical vocal recital was presented by Pandit Vinayak Torvi, of Bangalore starting with ‘Chaaya Nata’ Raga and ending with Bhairavi. Torvi did his master’s degree from Karnataka University, Dharwad. He bagged “Suramani” award from Mumbai, and Rajyotsava award from the Karnataka Government. He is very a famous singer in Light music and Devotional music in Kannada.
