Kuwait: United Mangaloreans Donate Rs. 16.08 Lacs for a Cause in Mangalore

Kuwait, 17 Nov 2012: United Mangaloreans Kuwait UMK’s dream of helping the underprivileged turned into reality once again for the fourth time with ‘Fun-Filled Evening 2012’, a successful show staged to generate funds for a charitable cause, presented before packed audience at the American International School, Maidan Hawally here on Friday 19th October 2012. The event comprised of melodious songs, foot-tapping dances and the hilarious Konkani drama ‘Ootre Uzvadlem’.
The proceeds, Rs 16,08,108/- (Indian Rupees Sixteen Lacs Eight Thousand One Hundred Eight only) contributed to ‘Little Sisters of the Poor – Home for The Aged’, located at Bajjodi, Nanthoor, Mangalore, Karnataka, India. Recently, UMK’s team of Lloyd Pinto, Ronson Saldanha, Philomena Saldanha, Beverly D’Souza, and Rev. Fr. Vincent Victor Menezes (Parish Priest of Cassia ) visited ‘Little Sisters of the Poor - Home for the Aged’ and handed over the amount in the form of a cheque to Sr. Josphine and her team at ‘Little Sisters of the Poor’. Sr. Josphine thanked UMK and its generous supporters.
UMK has contributed around Rs 28 Lacs to three needy organizations in India in the past three years, raised during three successful ‘Fun Filled Evening’ shows in 2009, 2010 & 2011.
On behalf of UMK family, leader Agnel Saldanha expressed gratitude to all the generous Sponsors, Donors, Well-wishers, and the audience, who whole-heartedly supported and encouraged UMK for the noble cause.
