M’belle: Training for Village Health & Sanitation Committee

Moodubelle, 27 July 2011: Competence development training for the Village health and sanitation committee members of Moodubelle – Kattingeri Grama, was inaugurated on 25th July 2011. This 3 days training from 25th to 27th July 2011 is organized under the Karnataka health system development and improvisation program,V.H.S.C. members’ competence improvisation training camps, conducted by Adavi Siddeshwara Gramina Abhivradhi Samste (Regd), Udupi.

 

The inaugural function was held on Monday morning in Moodubelle. The program was presided over by Jesintha Aranha – President of Belle Panchayath. Ida Gibba D’Souza – Member of Jilla Panchayath inaugurated the program. Devdas Hebbar – President of Taluk Panchayath Udupi was the Chief Guest. In the inaugural speech Ida Gibba D’Souza called upon the members of the committee to learn on the health and cleanliness procedures during the 3 days training, so that they can also train the others and thus can develop Moodubelle.

 

 

Other guests and dignitaries present on the occasion were; Peter Raphael Aranha – Headmaster of Church Higher Primary School Moodubelle, Jerald Fernandes – Former President of Jilla Panchayath Udupi, Dr. Krishna Prasad Primary Health Centre Pernankila, Sangamesh - Taluk Coordinator of Adavi Siddeshwara Gramina Abhivridhi Samste (Regd) Udupi and Ragavendra - Dharmasthala Gramina Abivridi Samste.

 

The 3 days training from morning 10.00 am to evening 05.30 pm, consists of; Introduction, games, briefing of training rules, distribution of responsibilities, observation, recording of observations, village health status, prepare health sketch, group discussion, issues and problems of women and children – reasons – implications, issues and problems of reserved and scheduled caste, water and sanitation, village health service provision and supply, comparisons to earlier recordings and group discussions. There will be breaks for tea and lunch.

 

Shanthi welcomed the guests and the gathering. Malathi Dinesh – Resource Person from Adavi Siddeshwara Gramina Abivridhi Samste (Regd) Udupi compeered the program and proposed vote of thanks.
