Mangalore, 28 Sep 2014: It was feast for the eyes as well as the brains, especially the children had their share of fun watching the variety of birds, the cats, the guinea pigs, the white mice and the ones to attract their deep attention were the fishes, both salt and fresh water ones.
This was the scene at Global Expo-2014, an exhibition at St Sebastian Hall, Bendore here on Sunday September 28.
The deadly flesh eater of Amazon Forests, the piranha was trapped inside the glass aquarium and was responding to their movements. The giant white and black sharks were reduced to the small size and it too seemed to have liked young homo sapiens’s company of young one too though.
The special structured ones - SK gold fish, the parrot fish, pearl scale gold fish, flour horn, Jaguar fish, feather fish, sea Ahimo raised their eyebrows while the glittering butterfly fish, milky karp, red cap gold fish, white angel fish, moonlight gourami amused them.
A kid was also found asking its Dad why that butterfly fish was called the butterfly fish. Well even though the father’s answer did not seem genuine it was convincing one for the curious kid.
Well the reason for this was the lack of curators or guides who can explain the nomenclature and even the scientific name of the fish which can give clear idea about the origin of the fish was also missing. The in-charge staff too was not able to converse with the crowd.
Nevertheless, it certainly raised the curiosity levels of the children.
To add to the children’s happiness there were various birds across the world kept in the cage were also responsible for the amusement of the visitors.
As what can be termed as the cherry on the cake of happiness for the young ones there was a Persian cat which made children spend most of their time with it since it loved their company. Most were found clicking photographs with the soft furred creature and later moved on to their next set of exhibition where household items, grocery condiments are kept for sale.
Well you can visit this exhibition, any day between 11.00am to 9.00pm till October 3.
