New Delhi, 19 October 2010: The 2010 Commonwealth Games scam grew murkier as the Income Tax Department and the CBI raided around 25 premises on Tuesday. BJP leader and industrialist Sudhanshu Mittal and his nephew Vinay Mittal’s houses were raided by the CBI in connection with awarding of contracts for the CWG.

Both, Sudhanshu and Vinay Mittal, are connected with Deepali consortium, supplier of sports equipment, which was awarded the contract for 2010 CWG.

There was also a raid at CWG Organising Committee member Harish Sharma’s house. Sources said there was evidence of tax evasion through invoicing.

Also under the scanner is a deal through which treadmills were acquired for the CWG.
