Mamata launches ‘Mother Express’

Kolkata, 26 August 2010: ‘Mother Express’, an exhibition train to commemorate the birth centenary of Mother Teresa, was today inaugurated at the Sealdah station here by Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee.
The train that focuses on the life, work and message of Mother Teresa, would travel all over the country in the next six months, Eastern railway sources said.
The train comprises three air-conditioned coaches, in which photographs, write-ups on the life and message of Mother Teresa have been kept for public viewing.
Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee and Superior General of Missionaries of Charity Sister Prema offering prayer before opening the Mother Express train for public viewing on the birth centenary of Mother Teresa at Sealdah Station in Kolkata on Thursday.
The Missionaries of Charity helped the railways by supplying photographs and various materials.
The train will leave for Baruipur tomorrow and later visit Krishnagar, Kolkata, Bandel, Howrah, Asansol, Durgapur, Bolpur and Malda before leaving for Katihar in Bihar.
