India should be wary of the Irish charge

New Delhi, 03 March 2011: Ireland’s shock win over England at Bangalore’s Chinnaswamy stadium is sure to send shivers down the spine of Team India who are next up for a side which were considered to be one of the minnows before the start of the 10th ICC World Cup.
India’s bowling attack will once again be under the scanner as they take on the Irish who will be on cloud nine after their second giant killing act in back to back World Cups. Ireland had also upset the Pakistanis in the 2007 edition which knocked out the 1992 champions from the competition.
Bangalore which is fast developing a reputation for providing high scoring thrillers will in fact be the venue for India’s clash against Ireland which might turn out to be the host’s biggest worry. The bowlers don’t seem to have any answers on a perfect batting wicket where scores of over 320 have proved to be insufficient.
India had to be content with a tie against England as their total of 338 was matched by England before the Irish miraculously chased down their winning target of 328 against the Poms.
It will be tough for India to come up with humongous totals on a regular basis as pointed out by their skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni after their encounter against the English.
With a bowling attack which is nothing to write home about against an opposition which truly believes in itself, the Indians are sure to have their hands full come Saturday, 6th March.
