Bangalore: Archbishop Dr Bernard ordains 16 Religious as Deacons

Bangalore, 30 Jun 2014: Archbishop Dr Bernard Moras ordained 16 religious as deacons during the festal Eucharistic Celebration of Saints Peter and Paul at Darshan Institute of Theology chapel, Kengeri, here on Sunday June 29.
Thirteen brothers were from the Holy Trinity Capuchin Province of Karnataka: Bro Salvadore D’Cunha, Bro Amar Anthony Lobo, Bro Naveen Joseph Sequeira are from Perpetual Succour Church Koppa, Bro Andrew Jayaraj belongs to St Joseph’s Cathedral Chikmagalur, Bro Poul Karun Mascarenhas is from Our Lady of Victories Church Balehonnur, Bro John Zodhusanga is the parishioner of St Francis of Assisi Church Durtlang, Bro Peter Lalrammuana hails from St Mary’s Church Aizawl, Bro Prashanth Walter D’ Souza belongs to St Peter Claver Church Arva, Bro Ravi Rajesh Serrao is from St Raphael Church Badyar, Bro Frolic Fernandes belongs to St Lawrence Church Moodubelle, Bro Praveen Stephen D’ Souza is from St Joseph’s Church Belman, Bro Preetham Rayan Mendonca belongs to Our Lady of Fatima Church Pernal, Bro Prakash Melwyn Colaco hails from St Francis Xavier Church Udyavar.
Two brothers were from Third Order Regular (TOR) - Bro Thomas Tudu from St Francis Church Gokhla, Orissa and Bro Sarat Kumar Nayak from St Peter’s Church Mohana, Orissa). One brother was from Benedictine Monastery: Bro Mourice Kullu, Majhapara, Orissa.
The Archbishop Dr Bernard in his message encouraged the brothers to continue deepening the relationship with Jesus. He quoted the very word of St Francis of Assisi saying, ‘Go and proclaim the gospel and if necessary use the words.’ He urged the brothers to live a life of prayer and preach the Gospel through the good deeds, than mere words.
Holy Trinity Province – Karnataka provincial minister Fr Dolphy Pais, vicar provincial Fr Alwyn Dias, TOR provincial delegate Fr Wilson and Ashirvanam – Benedictine Monastery friar Fr Xavier and several clergies were present on the occasion.
Bro Johnson conducted the liturgical service. The rector Fr Jossy Fernandes welcomed the gathering. Fr Salvadore along with the theologians of Darshan Institute of Theology rendered an angelic choir. Deacon Walter D’Souza representing the deacons thanked the Archbishop Dr Bernard, friars, nuns, parents of deacons and their relatives, benefactors for their prayerful support.

A Blessed News from bangalore. When youth are averse to be priests here is a group chose by the Lord with a noble vocation. god bless them and strengthen them to be active priests and serve the faithful in right direction with a true spirit of love.
