Mangalore: Kalakul, Theater Repertory stages Konkani Play ‘Platform No 3’ to Packed Audiences in Cit

Mangalore, 02 Sep 2013: Kalakul, Konkani’s only theater repertory staged Konkani play, Platform No 3 - a unique comedy play to the packed audience at Kalaangann, Shaktinagar, here on Sunday September 1 evening. It was presented by Mandd Sobhann, as its 141st monthly theater.
Arun Raj Rodrigues is the playwright of Platinum No 3 and directed by Christopher D’Souza, Neenasam.
The play is all about the happenings in a railway platform. An ambitious young boy who has completed his MBA with gold medal is on his way to Chennai to attend an interview in a MNC. In the platform, he meets with fellow passengers, a Gujarati couple, a handicap person, a gay , a prostitute along with the Malayali vendor of tea stall, policeman and a girl with whom the boy got attracted to. As the train was delayed for 3 hours, in order to pass the time, all passengers enact a political play by imitating various political characters. At the end when train arrives at the platform, an unexpected twist happens to the play. According to the audience, play was worth the money. This is the first play of the new batch (2013-14) of Kalaakul.
Rohan Lobo was the music director. Melwyn Pais, Sandeep Tellis, Maria Joyce DSouza, Arun Tauro, Preeetam Rodrigues, Neeshma D’Souza, Vanessa D’Cunha, Rivin Crasta, Malcon Rego and Hanley Coelho were the casts displayed their great acting skills.
