Udupi: JCI – Belman organizes Rural Sports Meet at Punaru

Udupi, 13 Feb 2013: Everyone has the responsibility in order to preserve the rural games that are threatened in modern times. The traditional Tulunadu games are losing its sheen in the guise of modernity, said municipal commissioner M Gokuldas Nayak .
Gokuldas Nayak was speaking after inaugurating rural sports meet in silted-paddy-field, located nearby Shastavu Brahmalingeshwar temple, Punaru, near Belman here owned here on Sunday February 10. It was organized jointly by JCI – Belman, Tulu Sahitya Academy.
JCI zonal president Sridar P S in his chief guest’s address said that the rural games are threatened to go oblivion, while the youth has to take interest to foster the traditional games. The playing in silted-paddy-field at least once in a year will keep the skin
allergies at bay, said Sridar.
JCI – Belman president Raghunat Nayak Punar presided the programme.
JCI – Belman secretary Sanjeev Poojary, past president Dinesh Suvarna, Vidhyasree R Nayak, JJC president Rakshit R Acharya, Sarvajna Tantri, Jaycees members and others were present at the occasion.
