SAC to Organize Media Manthan ’13, Celebrating Century of Indian Cinema on Jan 21, 22

Mangalore, 17 Jan 2012: St Aloysius College department of mass communications will be organizing two-day national fiesta, on the theme Celebrating 100 years of Indian Cinema at college campus, here from Monday January 21 to Tuesday January 22. The students from colleges all over the country are expected to take part in the media fiesta.
The city Information and Broadcasting officer Rohini K will be the chief guest inaugurate Media Manthan ‘ 13 at college campus, here at 9.30am on Monday.
Bollywood film director Sandeep Malani and Tulu film producer Vijayakumar Kodialbail will be the guests of honour.
Tulu film director Devdas Kapikad will be the chief guest of valedictory function to be held at 4.00pm on Tuesday.
Tulu film actor / director Arjun Kapikad will be the guest of honour.
Various competitions, media workshops and panel discussions, film screening and photography exhibition based on the theme will be held during the fiesta. The media fiesta aims at felicitating local film makers who have contributed to the film industry,
Tulu movie producer of Oriyadori Assal fame, Vijayakumar Kodialbail, Sandeep Malani, director of Janleva 555 fame and Arjun Kapikad, director Telikeda Bolli will be honored during the programme.

Renowned media personalities, filmmakers and experts from the field of cinema will lead the media workshops. The following workshops will be held as part of the fete: ‘Acting and Anchoring’ by Pradeep Krishna, freelancer, ‘Radio Jockeying’ by RJ Vishwas of 92.7 BIG FM, ‘Film Direction and Techniques’ by Goan film director Rajendra Talak and ‘Web Designing’ by web developer and designer Prathamesh Pai, visiting faculty member Manipal Institute of Communication. All the workshops are free of cost.
The competitions lined up for the fiesta are 8×10 Tasveer (Photography contest), Bol Bachchan (RJ Hunt), Taare Zameen Par(Quiz), Pehchaan Kaun (Mock Press), Kahaani (Trailer Making), Golmaal (Movie Spoof), Viraam (Ad Making), Makhdi Ki Jaal(Web Designing), Peepli Live (Video Bulletin), and Chitragupt (Film Review).
Apart from workshops and competitions, panel discussion on the topic ‘Cultural Diversity in Indian Cinema’ will also be conducted. The panelists are Manu Chakravarthy, Phaniraj, Samvartha Sahil and Avinash Kamath. The panel discussion will be followed by an interactive talk on ‘Commerce of the Scientific Art’ by Vinayak Pujar, Assistant Director, Yograj films and ‘Indian Cinema through the Ages’ by Vivek Nambiar, PR officer Pilikula Nisargadama. Films of renowned film makers will be screened and discussions will be followed. The joy of watching the film with the director of the film is the unique aspect of the fiesta.
