They were among the six students from MITE, Moodbidri who visited Panambur Beach.
Beach project CEO Yathish Baikampady said the lifeguards saved as many as 94 persons, including Wednesday’s rescue, on the beach ever since the project started in 2008. "They were saved by life guards at 12.30pm," he said.
The group of six had entered the waters after arriving at the beach. Yatish said the students thought they were in shallow waters not understanding the rip currents that would drag them.
