18 June 2014: One of the most interesting and exciting part of our tour in the Himalayan countries of Bhutan and Nepal was an opportunity to see the world’s tallest mountain-Mount Everest through arranged flight. However, the flight to Mount Everest was with additional cost. Hence, the group that opted for the flight across Mount Everest comprised of six tourists including myself.
As instructed by our tour manager, we arrived at the Khatmandu Domestic Airport at 7 am. The security check was quite simple as we did not carry many things with us except cameras to capture the majestic Mount Everest with all its glory and scenery. There were 20 passengers in the small aircraft called Buddha Air, all eager to start the flight towards Mount Everest. The air hostess guided us to our respective seats everyone getting window seat.
After the pilot announced to fasten our seat belts, the aircraft moved slowly to the starting point for takeoff. As the aircraft lifted into the air, i managed to click some pictures of the ground and surrounding landscape.
It was a breathtakingly beautiful sight to fly across the Himalayas in the morning. As our flight headed towards Mount Everest, the air hostess handed us mountain map indicating different mountain peaks.
As the aircraft moved further, i tried to take as many pictures of the Himalayan range as possible. We were allowed one by one to view the Himalayan mountain range from the cockpit. It was a clear view from the cock-pit and once again i clicked few pictures from the cockpit.
After some time, the pilot announced that the peak of the Mount Everest was visible and all of us began to point our gaze and cameras to the tallest mountain peak in the world.
Having undertaken the flight to Mount Everest, the aircraft returned to Khatmandu Airport. As we alighted from the aircraft, i could not believe that i have just fulfilled one of the dreams of my life, that is, viewing the Himalayas in general and Mount Everest in particular with all its glory.
