Udupi: Rotary is a selfless social service organization – Dr A Bharatesh

Udupi, 23 Jun 2013: Rotary Club International (RCI) that has over century of history is a selfless social welfare organization, wherein the RCI members and their families serve the humanity.  RCI is a family oriented social service organization, said RCI district 3180 district governor Dr A Bharatesh Karkal.

 

Dr Bharatesh was speaking at the installation ceremony of Shirva – Rotary newly-elected office bearers during a function held at Shirva – Rotary auditorium, Bantakal, near here on Saturday June 22.

 

The exiting president Mathias Lobo presided the function here on Saturday evening.  Mathias Lobo handed over the charge to newly-elected president Leo Noronha.

 

 

The past assistant governor Manohar Rao presented certificate to Mathias Lobo for his greater contribution that led to the success of Pulse Polio programme.

 

The civil contractor Pradeep Quadros, young lawyer Melvyn D’Souza enrolled as members of Shirva – Rotary during the programme.

 

The assistant governor Madhav Suvarna Padubidri released ‘Mallika’ Rotary bulletin edited by Edwin Rodrigues at the same occasion.

 

The uniforms were distributed to the students of Pamboor parish Higher Primary School, besides felicitated Jenita Frida Barboza, a student of St Mary’s Pre-University College, Shirva who bagged first II PUC arts in the entire district and Renita Reema Pinto, who bagged second place in SSLC in the entire district.  Srinidhi Marate, B Com student of St Mary’s College who secured 82 percent and also toppers of different education institutions in the neighbourhood were felicitated on the occasion.

 

Reshal Sequeira rendered the prayers.  The new secretary Raghupati Aithal proposed vote of thanks.  K R Patkar compered the programme.  William Machado assisted in the programme.
