Mathura, 24 October 2010:  Suspected of stealing a mobile phone, a 15-year-old boy, Lokesh, was allegedly beaten to death with sticks in Mathura’s Nagla Bhagat village on Saturday. Lokesh was allegedly thrashed by the owner of the missing phone, Lokum Singh, and his sons, in a field in their village.

When residents of the village got to know about the incident this morning, they went looking for the teenager, and then rushed him to a hospital. However, Lokesh was declared dead on arrival.

An FIR has now been registered for culpable homicide not amounting to murder against Lokum Singh’s sons - Kushalpal, Ravindra and Dharamvir,  and their friend Sanjay, who are now absconding.
