Udupi: Vadiraja Tech College, Bantakal Students invent Intelligent Farming System

Udupi, 11 Jun 2014: The final year electronics and communications department of Vadiraja Technical College, Bantakal, near here developed Intelligent farming method.

 
The students have used PIC microcontrollers and GSM mobile software to develop this system along with hardware in their innovation.  The system will measure the moisture in the soil, humidity in the atmosphere and also check the voltage to run the water pump.  It will automatically shut down the pump in case of low voltage.  It will send SMS to the farmer at the location using GSM, if in case any fluctuations in moisture, humidity or depleting water level in the tank.

 

 

 
The video captor can be fixed to the system to view the farming activities by sitting at home.  The weather info can be transmitted to the nearest meteorological department.

 
The students Srinidhi, Shilpa Shetty, Shruti Shetty and Nishvi Nayak assembled the system with the guidance of Professor Arun Upadhyaya.
