Mangalore: City girl tops in SSLC examination

Mangalore, May 12, 2014 : Kannada medium student from Mangalore has topped in SSLC examinations by securing first rank in Kannada medium in State.
 
Lavanya, a student of Lourdes Kannada Medium School, Bejai, secured 611 out of 625 marks (97.76 per cent). She is the daughter of Balasubramanya Padakannaya and Poornima.
 
She scored cent percent marks in mathematics and social studies, and 94 in science. In Kannada (first subject) she scored a remarkable 123 out of 125, and 95 and 99 out of 100 in languages I and II.
 
The management and staff of Lourdes Kannada Medium School have extended their good wishes to Lavanya.
 
The Karnataka SSLC examination results were announced by Kimmane Rathnakar, minister for primary and secondary education.
 
Girls outshine the boys in the exams in the state this year. Chikkodi district has gained the first place in the district-wise list with the percentage of 91. Sirsi and Belgaum have secured second and third places respectively.
