Shirva: MSW and M.Com courses to be inaugurated in St. Mary’s College on 25 September 2010

Shirva, 20 September 2010: St. Mary’s  College has been serving the higher education needs of Shirva and surrounding villages since 1980.  Until 2009, the college has been offering only BA/B.Com courses.  Considering the needs of the times and give a quality push to these traditional courses the Management started BBM and BCA courses at the undergraduate level and MSW and M.Com courses at the post graduate level.

 

 

The starting of the new courses demands extended work area in the form of library, classrooms, staff rooms and sanitation facilities.  The Management has already undertaken extension work of the already existing building at an estimated cost of Rs.75 lakhs to house these courses.

 

The inauguration of the new courses-MSW and M.Com. will be held on Saturday, 25th September 2010 at 2.30 p.m.  in the Saude Sabha Bhavan. Most Rev. Dr. Aloysius Paul D’Souza, Bishop of Mangalore and  President of  the Catholic Board of Education, will preside over the programme. Dr. P.L. Dharma, Professor and Chairperson Political Science Department, Mangalore University will inaugurate these new courses. Very Rev. Baptist Menezes, Episcopal Vicar, Udupi and  Rev. Fr. Richard Coelho, Administrator-Fr. Mueller Medical College Hospital, Mangalore will be the Chief Guests.
