Mangalore, 1 Aug 2013: ‘Be strong, be kind, be focused, be determined. Learn to go extra mile, it will make you achieve your goals,’ said the chief fuest of the function Dr Jancy James, vice chancellor of Central University while addressing 149 students of the 15th batch of MBBS of Father Muller Medical College.
‘Health care is the area of major concern. The challenges before medical professionals are increasing day by day. Therefore as the students of MBBS you have major role to play.’ She further said that due to the advancement there has been a transitional change. In this A3 generation which has number of options in every field of life, the great challenge for an individual is to maintain their individuality and to make the right choice.
Inauguration of the 15th batch of MBBS students of Father Muller Medical College was held on Thursday August 1 at 9:30am at their decennial memorial hall, here.
Fr Patrick Rodrigues, director of Father Muller Charitable Institutions presided the function.
Dr Jayaprakash Alva, dean of Father Muller Medical College, Dr Prakash Shetty, vice dean, was also present.
The Inaugural function was begun by screening of the documentary which threw light on the legacy of Father Muller Charitable Institutions.
Fr Patrick Rodrigues during his presidential address said, ‘Father Muller College stands for commitment and excellence and it is the responsibility of every student to keep up the good name.’
Two students from the 2011 batch gave a brief picture of their experience during the course of their study.
Dr Jayaprakash Alva, gave a brief idea on the discipline and regulation of the college to be maintained.
Fr Rudolph Ravi D’Sa, administrator of Father Muller Medical College spoke on the campus life and the hostel rules to the students.
The entire exercise was made to make the students feel at home and to plan their journey for their coming days at Father Muller Medical College.
