Dubai, 29 Jun 2013: In one of the best talented show organized by Mangalore Konkans Dubai, “Spark Dubai” secured first place in Konani Vividh Vinodaval Spordo beating other five contestants.
The must awaited and exited Konkani Vividh Vinodaval Spordo was held on Friday at JSS School Auditorium in order to encouraged Coastal Karnataka’s talents in Dubai. Organisers, Mangalore Konkans had arranged a roof for Mangaloreans to show case the talents and compete with other teams from various parts of Mangalore. Six teams from U.A.E. participated in this wonderful and competitive talent show namely: Konkan bells, Cordelche Kalakar, Uswas, Karaval Milan, Spark Dubai and Mogachi Laharan presented skits, dance and singing in competition. All teams presented wonderful shows and mesmerized the audience and equally competitive and the judges had tough time to select the best three among them.
Eminent artists, Cajethan Pereira, Sama Rani, Ozwald Dsouza, Avrel Rodrigues and Marina Goveas judged the mega cultural event. Spark Dubai bagged first place and Karvali Milan secured second place when Cordelche Kalakar walked away with second runners up.
All the teams carried out the skits based on sexual harassment, work place bulling, family life, society, drugs, and impact of mobile phone, misuse of electronic media, corruption and patriotism.
To add glamour to the show the Gulf Voice of Mangalore singers presented beautiful konkani songs namely: Asha Fernandes, Sabitha Mathias, Jeevan Vas, Anil Mascarehnas, Preeth Noronha and Cateejan Pereira and entertained gathering with melodious singings. Skits staged by laughter club of U.A.E. Sangon Mugdhana Kalakar provided the audience with stress-buster rib-tickling comedy. The magical dance performed by 35 kids of Feet Beat troupe added beauty to the cultural part of the event.
In the individual category, Alphonse D’Souza secured all best artist title especially for his role in the skit presented by Sparks Dubai and best Master of Ceremony title was won by Rony Byndor of Karavali Milan.
Vote of thanks delivered by Convener, Mangalore Konkans, Arun Lobo. The gulf famous master of ceremony Roshan D’silva conducted the entire ceremony with is command of Konkani Language, in an unique style and presentation, and above all clinical start and finishing of the program was applauded by the audience. Deepak Machado member of Mangalore Konkans presented the quiz and the prizes were distributed to the winners.
