Mangalore, 05 Feb 2013: BWF urges Union Minister Rehman Khan to Ease Eligibility Criteria for NRIs Children in Obtaining Seats for Professional Courses
Report by Rafeek KrishnapuraCoordinator, BWF-Abu Dhabi Abu Dhabi, Feb 6: The delegation of Muslim community leaders led by Bearys Welfare Forum (BWF), Abu Dhabi president Mohammed Ali Ucchil met union minister for minority affairs Rehman Khan during the latter’s visit to Mangalore recently and urged the minister to direct Karnataka government in order to simplify the process of obtaining seats for NRI’s children from southern states of India.
BWF in a memorandum forwarded to the concerned authorities through former Karnataka education minister and Congress leader B A Mohideen, urged the state administration in order to ease the eligibility for government seats for children of NRIs from Karnataka in such colleges. The grievances of NRIs on facing difficulties in this regard were explained in their memorandum.
Y Abdulla Kunhi, Hyder Parthipady, T M Shaeed, Mumtaj Ali Krishnapura, S M Rasheed Haji, Ahmed Bava Haji and other community leaders were present in the delegation.
