M’belle: Hanumantha of Church Aided HP School selected for State level under 14 Athletic Meet

Moodubelle, 14 Ocyt 2012: With determination and hard work one can reach the desirable goal. This proved to be right in the case of Hanumantha, Seventh standard student of Church Aided Higher Primary School, Moodubelle who has been selected to represent the Udupi District  Under 14 athletics events in two disciplines-Discuss Throw and Long Jump.

 
Hailing from a poor family of Kappandakariya, Hanumantha is the son of Bangarappa and Yamana.  Hanumantha had successful athletics competition at the Hiriyadka Circle, Udupi Taluk level and Udupi District level.

 

 
Being first  in 100 meters race, Long Jump, Discuss Throw and Relay Race, Hanumantha was declared as the individual Boys Champion at the Hiriyadka Circle in Under 14 Athletics competition.  The Relay Team comprised of besides Hanumantha, Anil,  Pratheek and Preetham. In the same venue, Divya Suvarna had secured first place in the 100 meters run.

 
Hanumantha repeated his success story at the Udupi Taluk level Athletics meet and stood first  in 100 meters race, Discuss Throw  and secured second position in the Long Jump  and claimed the title of Individual Boys Champion at the Taluk level.

 
At the recently held  Udupi District level Athletics Meet at Ajjarakadu on October 10 and 11, 2012, though Hanumantha was not as successful as in Hiriyadka Circle and Taluk level, he secured  Second position in the Discuss Throw and Long Jump. By virtue of securing second position in these two events, Hanumantha is being selected to represent the Udupi District in these two events at the Karnataka State level  Under 14 Athletics Met to be held at Chitradurga.
