Mangalore Tragedy - UK Konkans cancels Konkan Day

London, 24 May 2010: UK Konkans Organising Committee held an extraordinary meeting today to discuss the recent tragic event that occurred today in Mangalore, involving Air India Express and the loss of several precious lives.

As a mark of respect to those who lost their lives and those who mourn them, the committee unanimously decided to cancel their forth coming event Konkan Day.

Whilst offering our heartfelt condolences to every family that has lost their loved ones, we wish to let you know that at this difficult and testing time, you will be in our prayers.  We pray to the Almighty to bless you with courage and strength to bear the loss of your loved ones.

UK Konkans president Eric D’Souza apologises to all their members and supporters who had promised to make this event a grand success, but says he is confident that everyone will show their solidarity, appreciate our decision and agree with us at this difficult time.
