Emotional Farewell To John Lobo-Founder Member of Bellevision-Oman

Muscat, 30 April 2010: It was an emotional send off to one of the founder members of Bellevision in Muscat-Mr. John Lobo, affectionately known as Jillu to his family and friends. After putting in 17 years of service in one of the reputed companies in Muscat, John decided to call it a day for the sake of further education of his two daughters. A formal farewell to the family of John Lobo was given on 9th April 2010 on the occasion of the get together that the Bellevision, Muscat had arranged when Dr. Eugene D’Souza had visited Muscat. John’s family, wife and two daughters have already left Muscat to Mangalore on 17th April 2010.

As John Lobo has also decided to follow his family to Mangalore on 4th May 2010, the Committee members of Bellevision, Muscat had a get-together on 28th April 2010 at 8.30 pm at Al-Khuwair. It was a brief emotional send off to ‘Jillu bab’ who has been not only the founder member but also one of the active members of Bellevision, Muscat.

The farewell was organised in a unique manner. John Lobo was asked to wear a white T-shirt on which all those who were present had to write a message and sign. The word ‘Farewell’ was written in front of the T-shirt. Mr. Simon D’Souza, the present President of Bellevision, Muscat initiated the signing spree which was followed by other members present for the farewell.

Mr. Lawrence Alva, the Chairman of the Bellevision, Muscat, appreciated the selfless service rendered by Mr. John Lobo to Bellevision, Muscat during the past years and said that John Lobo was like a pillar since the foundation Bellevision, Muscat in 2003. He also said that John has been taking personal interest in organising various activities of Bellevision such as organising picnics, get-togethers, feasts, etc. Mr. Lawrence also pointed out that, John Lobo,besides being an active member of Bellevision, has been a good writer and poet. He also used to write lyrics. As John would be leaving Muscat soon, Mr. Lawrence lauded him for the right decision that the has taken at the right moment in the interest of the education of his daughters.

John Lobo expressed his gratitude to all the members of Bellevision, Muscat for the love and affection that they had shown towards him and his family and thanked Mr. Lawrence, Mr. Simon and other committee members for organising the unique farewell in his honour.
