Udupi, 11 March 2012: Karnataka Komu Souharda Vedike (Communal Harmony Forum) accused Udupi – Chickmagalur lokasabha BJP candidate Sunil Kumar that he said ‘only Hindu votes are enough him and no need of minority votes’ and that it is a violation of the constitution, hence the forum requested the voters from both the districts not to vote for him.

Speaking in the press conference the forum Chief Secretary K.L. Ashok said that, a candidate saying that for him only certain community votes are enough and other community votes are not required, is against the rules of election commission and also violation of the constitution. After Sunil Kumar got his ticket to contest the lokasabha election, he has made his political intentions clear by saying that he does not need the votes of the minorities. He is in the mood to damage the communal harmony in the two districts, which will have effect on the law and peace, hence the voters should keep him away, he urged.

Speaking only on Hindutwa, Sunil Kumar is not talking on other issues such as tiger preservation project, environmental damage of western Ghats, issues of farmers – workers, so he has no right to receive the votes, he said. Apart from that, BJP does not have the ability to carry out the administration. If the people vote to this party, then they will get encouraged to illegally spend the crores of rupees tax money, so the only solution is to defeat it, he said.

We are not speaking for any party. We only request the voters have to decide on defeating the communal BJP candidate and decide yourself to whom to choose in the election. In the press conference various office bearers Prof. Nagari Babayya, Kalkuli Vittala Hegde, Gouse Mohiuddin, Rev. Fr. William Martis, G. Ragashekar, Suresh Bhat Bakrabailu and others were present.
