Mangaluru: Out of admiration for Patla Satish Shetty and seeing his continuous social service, Mumbai businessman and social worker, Kusumodar D. Shetty has announced a donation of Rs 1 crore to the Yakshadhruva Patla Foundation Trust.

As one of the foundation’s major donors, Kusumodar Shetty has taken the lead in responding to the aspirations of art and artists.

He established an organization called Bhavani Foundation Trust in his mother’s name for the welfare of the common people and through it, he has brightened the lives of thousands of underprivileged families. He has allocated more than Rs. 50 lakh every month for social service, including medical aid, widow’s pension, assistance for marriage of poor girls, educational assistance, assistance for construction of houses for the underprivileged. Kusumodar Shetty has given employment to thousands of people through his Bhavani Group of Companies.

He adopted a tribal village called Pirkatwadi in Raigad district of Maharashtra and was praised by the Maharashtra government for providing basic amenities like a school, a community hall and other facilities there.

He completely adopted a Kannada school in Ambernath and gave the lamp of knowledge to the lives of hundreds of children.

It is special that the spirit of service of the Bhavani Foundation Trust has spread to other states including Karnataka and Maharashtra. They organize blood donation camps, medical camps, and tribal welfare projects every year.

In recognition of his achievements, the Kannada Department of Mumbai University recently published a book titled Kusumodara in Kannada and English and dedicated it to him through Kusumotsava. It is a great tribute to his social services. Kusumodara Shetty is a model of personality who, without ever seeking praise, becomes a commoner among commoners, selflessly serves society, becomes a source of goodwill, and becomes a relative of the poor. Responding to the special request of the Chairman of the Yakshadhruva Dashamanotsava Committee, Baroda Shashidhar Shetty, Kusumodara Shetty increased his donation to the Foundation to one crore rupees.
