Fancy Dress Competition depicting Saints was organized in St. Lawrence Parish, Moodubelle

Udupi/M’Belle, 05 Nov 2023: In commemoration of the All Saints Feast on 1 November, 20 children of St. Lawrence Parish Moodubelle participated in a Fancy Dress  competition depicting their favourite Saint on Sunday, 5 November 2023 at 3.30 pm in St. Lawrence Parish Hall. The competition was jointly organized by the Commission  for Catechetics and Commission for Proclamation and Evangelization.

 

The competition commenced with a short prayer service conducted by Fr. Pradeep Cardoza, Assistant Parish Priest of St. Lawrence Church, Moodubelle who also compered the programme.

 

Mrs. Jyothi D’Souza briefly narrated the purpose for organizing the competition and the role of the saints in the Catholic Church.

 

Mrs. Sandra D’Souza and Mrs. Joyce D’Sa, both teachers in St. Lawrence English Medium School, Moodubelle were the judges.

 

 

The competitors were judged on the basis of their dress and a brief commentary on that saint which they had to present in one or two minutes.

 

Mrs. Shanti Alva, Coordinator of the Commission for Catechetics welcomed the gathering.

 

Fr. George D’Souza, Parish Priest of St. Lawrence Church, Charles Quadros-Secretary of the Parish Pastoral Council, Mrs. Gracy Rebello-Convener of the 21 Commissions and parents were present for the programme.
