Shirva, 22 June 2023: St Mary’s shirva NCC unit of the college in association with 21 Karnataka Battalion NCC, Udupi jointly organized the world yogaday celebrations on 21 June following an yoga video demonstration given by AYUSH Mantralaya at Fr. Henry Castellino Auditorium.
In today’s busy life, the youth should focus on yoga, as the president of the celebrations the principal of the college, Dr. Herald Ivan Monis, said that yoga is important for maintaining a healthy mind and body. He appreciated the NCC unit of the college for organizing such a good program also conveyed best wishes. Lt. K. Praveen Kumar, NCC officer of the college guided the program.
Yoga basically originated in the Indian subcontinent. Yoga has been practiced by yogis since ancient times. The word yoga translates from Sanskrit as union and discipline. Yoga infuses new energy into life. Thus, from common people to celebrities express their interest in yoga Cadet Ashika said that in her introductory speech explaining the main purpose and importance of the program.
Lance Corporal Anish Bhat and cadets were present in this programme. Cadet Anul Nayak and Alister Sujoy Dsouza assisted and welcomed by Lance Corporal Shettigar Hemasree Sudarshan, Cadet Sonali Kulal compered the program and Krithika proposed vote of thanks.
