Keerthana & Rakshita the two athletes of Milagres College win Gold and Silver medals

Udupi, 31 Aug 2022: One more feather added to the cap of success of sensational sprint queen Keerthana when she bagged Gold in the 100 Meters race in the just concluded Karnataka state Junior and Senior Athletic Championship held in Bengaluru.

 

It is apt and appropriate on this glorious occasion to have a glimpse at her recent achievements:

 

Ms Keerthana secured second place in the 100mts at the Mangalore University Inter Collegiate Athletic Meet held at Alva’s College Moodbidri, with a record time of 12.1 seconds. She too was a Gold medallist in the 4X100 meters Relay at the prestigious All India Inter University Meet in KITE University, Odisha. And also she has bagged Silver medal in Khelo India in the 4X100 meters relay held at Khantirava Stadium, Bengaluru. And now Karnataka State junior and senior athletic championship 2022, Keerthana bagged Gold medal in 100mtrs and in a 200mts Bronze.

 

 

On the other hand, Rakshita too exhibited one of her best performance in Heptathlon (an athletic event in particular one for women, in which each competitor takes parts in the same prescribed seven events, say 100mts hurdles, high jump, shot put, 200mts, long jump, javelin and 800mts) by winning Silver medal.

 

Rakshita, too have an equally great track record. She won Mangalore University inter collegiate athletic meet Heptathlon brown medal. Karnataka State junior and senior athletic championship 2022 bagged silver in Heptathlon.

 

On behalf of the College and its Management, staff and students, the Principal of the College Dr Vincent Alva congratulated both Keerthana and Rakshita on their spectacular achievement on tracks and the Physical Director Mr Nikhil Rahul DSouza, and other specialist coaches who trained them for this prestigious event.
