Bantwal, 02 Jan 2022: The enterprising rural youth organizing Kambala, contemporary buffalo’s race following age-old tradition is noteworthy, said Chennappa Salian, chairman of Kakyapadav Service Co-operative Society.
Chennappa was speaking after inaugurating 9th annual Satya-Dharma Jodukare Kambala that was organized by Ramanjaneya Geleyara Balaga at Kakyapadav Maira – Barkejalu that comes at the limits of Uli gram panchayat, near here on Saturday, January 1 evening.
In his presidential address, Damodar Nayak, correspondent of Panchadurga High School, Kakyapadav, near here lauded the contributions and achievements of Kakyapadav residents for the sphere of Kambala.
The DK district Kambala committee chairman Rohit Hegde Yermal, Uli gram panchayat president Suresh Maira, vice president Chidanand Rai Kakya, entrepreneur Natesh Poojary Bengaluru, progressive farmer Sudhakar Shetty Shankerabettu conveyed best wishes for the Kambala.
Uli gram panchayat member Chetan Urdottu, Kambala committee president Kusumadar Urki, executive president Latish Kukkaje, Tushar Bhandary Punkedady, vice president Santappa Poojary Hattadadka, Ramanjaneya Geleyara Balaga president Mahendra Kayarguri, treasurer Umesh Poojary and others were present.

Adhering to Covid-19 protocol the Kambala was stalled at 9.00pm and resumed on Sunday at 5.00am.
