Mumbai, 20 Dec 2021: India is a nation of diverse culture and communities that is rare to find elsewhere in the world. The unity in diversity is what makes India a distinct nation, said Fr Deepak Valerian Tauro, newly-appointed Auxiliary Bishop of New Delhi.
Auxiliary Bishop was speaking during his felicitation programme that was organized by Konkan Association Charitable Trust (KACT), St Jude’s parish, Jerimeri, Andheri (East), at their parish hall, here on Sunday, December 19.
Jerimeri parish priest Fr Avin Franklin, deacon K Sylvester, Sr Seema Thomas, Divo – Konkani Illustrated Weekly editor and publisher Lawrence Coelho, Catholic Sabha of Jerimeri parish unit president Flora D’Souza Kalmady, KACT president Leo Fernandes, vice president Walter D’Souza Kalmady were present at the dais.
Fr Avin welcomed the gathering and introduced Fr Tauro, Auxiliary Bishop who celebrated Thanksgiving Mass earlier.
Sr Anita Menezes, Sr Nevral Nuto, Suzanne Lawrence Coelho, Manuel Fernandes, Gregory Monis, Christian Tamil Sangh, Konkan Taram Jerimeri, Jerimeri parish council members and others were present.
Cyril Castelino compered the programme.
Silent prayers were offered for the repose of the soul of Fr Charles Vas who passed away on Dec 1.
Sahara Mathias presented a welcome dance.
Rudy D’Sa Mira Road, Reena R D’Sa, Vijay Shetty Moodubelle, Levin Fernandes, Dolphy Fernandes Kallianpur and others presented a variety dances, music and mimicry as part of the entertainment programme.
