Udupi, 26 Jan 2021: A 5-day camp of Army Special Annual Training related to Army’s Certificate Examination was held at St Mary’s College, Shirva, near here recently.
It was held under the guidance of College NCC officer Lieutenant K Praveen Kumar in collaboration with commanding officer Colonel Badriprasad and his colleagues.
The Principal of the College, Dr Herald Ivan Monis presided the programme.
In his presidential address, Dr Herald said, ‘Youth can become physically and mentally fit by participating in such camps and learning about new forms of learning, life coordination and higher education in the future of cadets from certification exams.’
Dr Herald also stressed on the employment opportunities that are open for NCC cadets.
Hawaldar Sonam Konchak and Phishal Badritmang of the 21 Karnataka Battalion NCC Udupi unit, were the resource persons, instrumental in equipping the cadets of energetic Army with NCC tests and conducting training on how to read the map, drill, firing, and handling weapons.
Colonel Badriprasad, Commanding Officer of the 21 Karnataka Battalion NCC Udupi Unit, lecturer Yashoda, former cadets Jackson Francis Cabral, Godwin Monis Gabral, Sera Mathe Mackwan fully coordinated the training.
Sergeant Major Pratima Acharya rendered the prayers. Sergeant Raina Andrade welcomed the gathering. Junior Under Officer Pravita Acharya proposed vote of thanks. Corporal Rion Rishi Alponso compered the programmme.
