Manipal: Student Journalists take oath to curb corruption

Manipal, 26 June 2011: “Let the protest movement against the corruption in the country succeed, let the strength of fighting this grow stronger, we all will support this movement always” these are the oaths taken by the Journalism department students of Madhava Pai Memorial College. They took oath in the inaugural function of the Communication Club in their College in the name of senior Journalist Jyothirmaya Dey of Mumbai who was recently killed by miscreants.

 

 

 
Umesh Nayak – Principal of Sneha Tutorials Udupi inaugurated this Jyothirmaya Dey Communication Club. Upon inauguration he said that, to become good journalists communication is very important and he wished them to become the journalists of the people’s choice. Later, in respect of the journalist Jyothirmaya Dey who was killed in Mumbai, the students, Lecturers and the guests observed silence. Principal, Prof. P. Dayananda Shetty took oath from the students on curbing corruption.

 

New video camera was released by the Journalism department, which is provided for the use of the student journalists. Communication Club President Sandip, Secretary Sulabha R. Bhat, Treasurer Sukesh, Journalism Department Head Dombayya Idkidu and Lecturer Sachendra were present on the dias. Student Ranjani compeered the program.
