Udupi, 21 June 2011: Lokayuktha Justice N. Santhosh Hegde spoks out in Udupi on the fresh scandals, he said that in the 2G corruption scandal there were 10 zeros but in just another few days an oil scandal of central government is going to be exposed and in this figure there are 17 zeros. He had come to Udupi on a dialogue program with the students, but he did not reveal much on the oil scandal. He said in the central government the Prime Minister is not corrupt, but he is protecting the corrupt people, he accused directly.

Speaking further he said that the Prime Minister of today may not be corrupt, but nothing can be said of the future. Therefore, even the Prime Minister also should be included in Lokpal legislation. We have even said that the President and Judge of Supreme Court also should come into the legislation, hence there is no question of leaving out the Prime Minister, he said clearly. As the government agrees to have all the people’s representatives to be included into the legislation then there is no meaning in keeping out the Prime Minister from it, isn’t the Prime Minister people’s representative? he questioned.

I have written to Anna Hazare to postpone his fasting movement which he has planned for 16th August. I have suggested him that, let us tour the whole country and unite all those who are against the corruption, there are many people who are interested to join us in this fight, after that you make the fasting movement, said Justice Hegde.

Conversing with the students Justice Hegde answered a question on the oath issue of Yediyoorappa – Kumaraswamy and said I pray Manjunatha with my joined hands to punish them both. With oaths they are reducing the faith of people on Manjunatha. Can doing the oath will prove who is corrupt? If they have faith in the constitution, they could have created a committee and investigated the corruption? He questioned.
