Mangaluru, 09 Jul 2020: Akshaya Patra Foundation, sponsored by ISKCON donated grocery kits to 150 parents of students who were on roll at Government First Grade College, Car Street, here on Wednesday July 8. It was a relief measure by Akshaya Patra during times of Covid-19 global pandemic.
In his inaugural address, Akshaya Patra vice president and Covid-19 relief co-ordinator Sanandana Dasa appealed the students not to get worried over Covid, instead think positive, have faith, adopt new ways of learning.
The grocery kit comprises 16 varieties of food items that can sustain a small family for 12 days.
In his presidential address, the College principal Prof Rajashekar Hebbar said, ‘Covid-19 taught the effectiveness of cleanliness and hygiene besides the need for online classes.’
The College principal Dr Shivaram P thanked Micron of Bengaluru, Adobe of Bengaluru who donated the grocery kits to Akshaya Patra.
The teaching staff, volunteers Tushar, Akshay, Prajwal and Vinoda assisted in the programme.
Three group of College volunteered to arrange the grocery kits at Akshaya Patra complex.
