Moodbidri: Karnataka State Under 16 Boys & Girls Chess Championship begins

Moodbidri, 18 June 2011: Karnataka State Under 16 Boys and girls Chess Championship being organised by Karnataka State Chess Association (affiliated to Chess Association of India, Lucknow) in association with Sri Dhavala College, Moodbidri was inaugurated by Prof. Ravishkumar, Principal, Sri Dhavala College by lighting the lamp. He applauded the association for organising the championship in rural belt. He opined this will encourage more rural talents to take up this game professionally and excel.

Chief Guests A Aravinda, Entreprenuer, Mangalore;  Radhesh Shenoy, Chartered Accountant; Prasanna Rao, Joint secretary, Chess Association of India; Praveen Kamath, Chief Arbiter were also on the dais.

 

Selection trials in the championship is conducted for Boys and Girls in 7 and 5 round swiis league system respectively.
Renowned CAI young talents Anishcharith Bhandary, Arjun Adappa, Dhikshu Vasanth, Reesha Shenoy, Mahima Khandige, Sanchitha Kamath are among the particpants.
