Bengaluru, 15 May 2020: Former underworld don and social activist Muthappa Rai passed away on Friday, May 15.
As per sources, The-68-year old was admitted to Manipal Hospital here in the city and died during treatment on Friday morning.
He had been battling from cancer for the last two years and was admitted to the hospital on April 30 due to serious illness.
The funeral arrangements will be held by his family members at his house in Bidadi, informed sources.
As there were rumors about his health last year, he held a news conference in January 2019 to confirm that he has cancer.
Rai was unanimously elected president of the Karnataka State Athletic Association. However, he stepped down from the position due to illness.
He is survived by two sons, three siblings, and one sister.
