Puttur, 10 Feb: National Service Scheme (NSS unit) of St Philomena College, in collaboration with Rotary Club of Puttur Central organized Swachhta Abhiyan in and around College Campus, here on Saturday, February 8.
The campus director Fr Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro inaugurated the programme.
The president of Rotary Club of Puttur Central Santhosh Shetty expressed his best wishes.
The principal Prof Leo Noronha presided the programme.
The secretary of Rotary Club of Puttur Central Mohammed Rafeeq, members Naveenchandra Naik, Ashok Naik, Bharathi S Rai and Ashraf were present on the dais.
This Abhiyan began in the campus and continued in places like Kaverikatte, Darbe Circle, Fr Patrao Circle, Bypass area and Mukrampady.
The volunteers of NSS and the members of Students’ Council took part in this programme. The wastes collected by these 180 volunteers have been disposed off with the help of Puttur City Municipal Council.
The NSS progrmme officers Dinakar Anchan and Shashiprabha B coordinated the programme.
