Mangaluru, 02 Sep: ‘At this mobile era, the youth are undergoing theater training to contribute their mite for Konkani plays. Mandd Sobhann has been contributing significantly for Konkani theater since its inception. Theater training strengthens art and patronage of viewers to such programme is essential for their success,’ said Fr Wilfred Prakash D’Souza, director of St Joseph Engineering College.
Fr D’Souza was speaking during Graduation Day celebration of Kalakul, Konkani theater repertory, promoted by Mandd Sobhann at Kalaangann, Shaktinagar, here on Sunday, September 1.
Manish Pinto was awarded Top Student cash award of Rs 3,000, Amreen, Savita and Sushmita awarded Rs 1,000 each.
Sushmita Tauro, Savita Saldanha, Amreen D’Souza, Manish Pinto and Flavia Mascarenhas awarded certificates.
Akshay Monteiro Manjeshwar, Jeevan Siddi Mundagod, Sujay Natasha D‘Souza Valencia, was enrolled for theater training in 2019-20.
Gilbert D’Souza, brother of Gilbert D’Souza, NRI sponsor of Kakakul academic year 2019; Mandd Sobhann Gurkar Eric Ozario, president Luvi Pinto and secretary Kishore Fernandes were present at the dais.
