Mangaluru, 23 Aug: Steady reading helps the students to improve IQ. It also helps to develop mental agility in facing daily struggles, challenges in life, said renowned litterateur and humorist Prof Bhuvaneshwari Hegde.
Prof Bhuvaneshwari was the chief guest speaking during Library Day celebrations held at Government First Grade College, Car Street, here on Thursday, August 22. She also explained how to shape their lives through humour.
In his presidential address, the College principal Prof Rajashekar Hebbar appealed the students to spend their precious time at the library and limit their use of mobile phones as reading makes them complete individuals.
The College chief educational advisor Dr Shivaram P, lecturers Dr Prakaschandra Shishila, Prof Ravikumar M P, Dr Mahesh K B, Dr Jayasri B, Dr Nagaveni and Pratima were present at the dais.
The chief librarian Dr Shailarani B delivered the preliminary address. Pallavi Prabhu proposed vote of thanks. Kavyasri compered the programme.
