Udupi, 14 Aug: Dr Parvathi Aithal, retired Professor of Bhandarkar’s College, Kundapura, near here inaugurated the Literary Association of Milagres College, Kallianpur, here recently.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Parvathi said, ‘Reading the literature helps us for introspection. The thoughts of our predecessors should be adapted to grow positive. The real success in the life means contributing something good to the society and not the mere money making, instead. The students should inculcate the writing habit alongside the reading,’ Dr Parvathi advised.
The principal of the College, Dr Vincent Alva spoke appealed the students to imbibe creativity through the literary association’s activities.
The coordinator of Literary Association and head of the department of Kannada, Prof Harinakshi M D welcomed the gathering and delivered preliminary address.
The head of department of Hindi - Prof Sophia Dias, English lecturer Prof Chandrika and the students’ representatives Sheethal, Shravya and Henrita were present on the dais.
The students Shayona and Roshni rendered the prayers. Pavithra proposed vote of thanks. Akshatha presented the programme.
