Mangaluru: Qualities of documentaries improved significantly – BBC Adam Caplan

Mangaluru, 23 Feb: The qualities of documentaries are better than before. Meanwhile, there lies the challenge to maintain reality using latest cameras and capturing voice over, said Adam Caplan, senior executive producer of BBC documentaries.

 

Adam was the resource person delivering talk at workshop on documentaries that was organized by University College, department of journalism in collaboration with CPE at University College auditorium, here, on Friday, February 22.

 

 

The documentary varies from region to region, while most of the documentaries producers present their concept with duration of 30 minutes. In a few cases, it would extend to 50 minutes, said Adam by screening a significant documentary to the viewers.   

 

In his presidential address, University College principal Dr Udayakumar said, ‘The media is distorting the views, while the viewers discretion is advised at all times.’

 

The head of department of journalism Dr Ganapati Gowda welcomed the gathering. CPE co-ordinator Lata A Pandit, English lecturer Pattabirama Somayaji, journalists Taranat and Ramesh, journalism lecturers  Mahantesh Hiremut and Guruprasad, others were present.
