Udupi, 19 Feb: If we are healthy, society will remain healthy. If the society is healthy, we can live in peace. The plays ought to inspire the audience to introspect besides entertaining. The plays with moral values sends out a worthy message to youth community, said Poornima, senior technical supervisor at Udupi district Kannada and culture department.
Poornima was the chief guest during the valedictory function of Parichaya Rangotsava-2019, National Theater Week that was organized by Parichaya Pamboor at Holy Cross parish hall, near here on Saturday, February 16.
She lauded the yeomen service of Parichaya Pamboor, in organizing National Theater Week at a remote village of Pamboor wherein plays of Kannada, Tulu, Konkani, Sanskrit and Malayalam were staged during 7-day theater fest.
Fr Alwyn Serrao along with other priests offered prayers for the grieving families of Pulwama attack.
Pamboor parish priest Fr Paul Rego, Fr Henry Alva, Fr Lawrence Cutinho, Fr Charles Menezes and others were present.
Parichaya Pamboor honorary president Professor Vincent Alva, members Peter Osta, B Pundalika Marate, Ignatius D’Souza, Lucas D’Souza, Fredrick Saldanha, Richard Saldanha, Edward Menezes, Mable Menezes, Sarita Alva, Jenita Alva, Violet Castelino and others were present.
Parichaya Pamboor president Anil D’Sa welcomed the gathering. The secretary Prakash Noronha proposed vote of thanks.
