Bantwal, 18 Aug 2018: The water levels on Netravati River receded to 8.3 meters as there was lull in incessant rains since Friday, August 17 in Bantwal taluk.
Although water levels are below the danger mark, the people who are taking shelters in relief camps can return to their homes only after the instructions of Tahsildar.
DK district-in-charge minister U T Khader, DK district DC Sasikant Sentil, district chief and munsif judge Satyanarayana Acharya Kadloor, chief civil judges A G Gangadhar and Mallana Gowda have paid a visit to flood-hit areas separately to assess the situation.
Bantwal MLA Rajesh Naik Ulipadyguttu, NDS nodal officer Prasanna, Tahsildar Purandar Hegde, TP CEO Rajanna, municipal chief officer Rekha J Shetty are monitoring the situation.
