Mangaluru, 10 Jun 2018: Dr Shivarama Karanth Pilikula Nisargadhama will be organizing Fruit Fest, in association with horticultural department at Urban Earth, Pilikula, here, from Saturday, June 16 to Sunday, June 17, from 10.00am to 6.00pm. It was being organized in order to educate youth about different varieties of fruits and to encourage horticulturists.
The different fruits that are grown in Karnataka, such as jackfruits, mangoes, papaya and others fruits, locally grown overseas fruits, wild fruits sourced from nearby forests, seeds of fruits, farm seeds, saplings of forest trees, the display and sale of varieties of fruits and juices will be held at the venue. Karnataka Fisheries Development Board will put up stalls of fresh fish and delicacies.
The horticulturists, Indian Horticultural Research Institute, CPCRI, Kasargod, organic farmers group, CAMPCO, forest and plantations department, Agricultural Science Center, KMF and other will display their products.
The entry is free for visitors. The organizers have uged the public to visit the Fruit Fest in large numbers.
