Bantwal: Morarji Desai School, Vogga qualifies to partake in National Kabaddi Tourney

Bantwal, 03 Nov 2017: The Kabaddi team of Morarji Desai Residential School, Vogga, near here, that represented Mysuru division in state level primary schools under 14 years Kabaddi tournament, organized by public instructions department of Karnataka at Bellary, from October 29 to October 30 bagged the championship trophy and thereby qualified to partake in national Kabaddi tournament.

 

Five players of same school who competed under 17 years girls Kabaddi tournament bagged the second place.

 

 

In the boys team comprised, Pandurang, the student of Morarji Desai School was the captain, along with other players Mallikarjun, Sidd and, Manju; Moideen Batish of Darul Ash Aria School – Suribail, near here; Kiran of Morarji Desai Residential School – Mundaje; Mohammed Rais of St Mary’s School – Beltangady and Nikhil of Sri Rama Vidyalaya – Kalladka.

 

Sushmita, Bhavani, Nalinakshi, Kushalakshi and Aishwarya formed the girls team, while Sushmita was chosen to partake in national Kabaddi tournament for the second time.

 

PT instructors Asid Padangady, Radhakrishna Macchina and Soumya Kanioor trained the Kabaddi teams. The principal Srinivas and managers Akhil Shetty, Manjunat Das and Jayaram offered guidance.

 

As the winning team arrived at Karinja Cross, Vogga, near here, the chairman of Karinjeshwar temple governing council and School betterment Committee member P Jinaraj Ariga welcomed them by garlanding. They were taken in a procession till their school.

 

Kavalapadoor gram panchayat president Pramod Kumar Rai, members Suresh Shetty and Anand Madhwa, former president Manikyaraj Jain, Government High School – Vogga head master Shaikh Adam, local leaders Dhananjay Hegde, Rajprasad Jain, PT instructors Jayaram, Manjunat Das, principal, teachers, students and others were present.
